Our initial mission was to preserve the PBY and all seaplanes once based at the seaplane facility on Whidbey Island. We now include all aircraft that have been based and flown from NAS Whidbey Island from 1942 to the present.  commemorating 60 years of operation since the first PBY landed in Crescent Harbor in 1942 As reported in the NAS Whidbey Island Northwest Navigator, July 24, 2008 How did an old PBY Catalina engine found in Alabama end up at the Fleet Readiness Center Northwest Support Equipment Division?
